1. WHAT'S INJECTED
1.1 Dermal fillers: A hyaluronic acid (HA) filler in gel form is injected gently into specific facial areas, such as the lips, chin, and cheeks, to enhance volume and create a natural-looking appearance. A mild topical aenesthetic, such as lidocaine cream, is applied before the procedure to help reduce discomfort caused by needle. 1.2 Botox® Cosmetic (anti-wrinkle) is precisely injected into targeted facial muscles and used to temporarily soften the look of moderate to severe wrinkles (forehead. eye corners, frown lines). Dosage is in accordance to producers specifications (40U/1ml saline). Read more about Botox on the producer's website:www.botox.com/
1.3 Hyaluronidase (filler dissolving): brand name Hyalase, is an injectable enzyme used to gently dissolve hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. It may be administered to correct complications, adjust aesthetic outcomes, or manage vascular occlusion. While hyaluronidase is generally considered safe and effective when administered appropriately, there is a risk of adverse reactions including severe anaphylactic events (extremely rare). Individuals with a known allergy to insect venom (wasps, bees, etc.) have an increased risk of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, due to potential cross-reactivity with hyaluronidase. A skin test is performed prior to treatment to assess for possible sensitisation.
1.4 Skin boosters: Polynucleotides under various brand names like Vitaran or Nucleofill, are injectable treatments derived from fish DNA, designed to help your skin regenerate and hydrate.
1.5 Skin boosters: Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment made from pure hyaluronic acid (HA), designed to deeply hydrate and remodel the skin. Unlike dermal fillers, it doesn’t add volume or shape. Instead, it spreads evenly under the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin, improving texture, elasticity, and firmness. It is injected just below the surface of the skin using a very fine needle, typically at five specific points on each side of the face, targeting the mid and lower face.
2. RESTRICTIONS
You will not receive injectable treatments if you find yourself in one of these situations:
2.1 Under the age of 18
2.2 Pregnant or breastfeeding
2.3 Had severe side effects to cosmetic injections before.
2.4 You have a history of anaphylaxis or multiple severe allergies.
2.5 You are allergic to insect venom like wasps or bees (Dissolving)
2.5 You are allergic to fish or seafood (Polynucleotides).
2.6 You have an active infection at the treatment site.
2.7 You are unable to make informed decisions for yourself.
2.8 You have a medical condition that restricts cosmetic injections.
2.9 In some cases, injectable treatments may not be suitable for everyone. The injector may decline to provide treatment if, in their professional assessment, you are not a suitable candidate. If this happens, the decision will be clearly explained to you.
3. THE RISKS
3.1 Anaphylaxis. Each injectable treatment provides a risk of allergic reaction to one or more components. In rare cases this allergies may lead to anaphylaxis, a serious and life-threatening situation that requires immediate medical attention. These reactions may be triggered by known or unknown allergens and it's not related to the quality of the treatment of the product.
Common signs of anaphylaxis include:
• severe swelling of the throat or tongue
• difficulty breathing
• trouble speaking
• rapid heart rate
If this occurs when you are alone, seek emergency help immediately or call an ambulance (999) without delay.
In the form below, you will be asked about specific allergies to help identify any known triggers and reduce the risk of a reaction. More about anaphylaxis here: nhs.uk/conditions/anaphylaxis
3.2 The treatment may not give the exact result you expect. Even if a treatment is technically successful by clinical standards, a person may still feel disappointed if the result doesn’t align with their personal vision.
3.3 Pain, bruising, or bleeding may occur. Needles can cause all of these and damage to veins, arteries, nerves or muscles. Some of these can require medical help.
3.4 Bacterial infections may develop post-procedure, particularly due to inadequate aftercare. Infections can cause redness, swelling and pain and can require specialised medical treatment. Please follow the aftercare to help avoid this situation.
3.5 Vascular occlusion, more commonly associated with dermal fillers, is a rare but serious complication that occurs if filler enters or compresses a blood vessel at the injection site, restricting normal blood flow. This situation cannot always be predicted or avoided, as some vessels may not be visible. If this happens, immediate injection treatment is required to dissolve the filler blocking the vessel and restore circulation. This treatment will dissolve the recently injected filler and may also dissolve any existing filler. If this rare situation occurs, a new lip filler procedure can only be performed after a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks, once the tissue has settled. This emergency situation may cause pain, distress, and loss of local volume due to the filler being dissolved. Your normal filler appointment will be prolonged by at least 30 to 60 minutes for close monitoring.
3.6 Herpes/cold sores recurrence can be triggered by injections to lips area.
3.7 Botox® Cosmetic can cause mild to severe side effects, including muscle weakness, vision problems, dizziness, severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
3.8 Temporary eyelid ptosis (eyelid drooping) and facial paresis, though very rare, these situations occur if Botox spreads to unintended facial muscles. It may happen even when the procedure is done correctly but aftercare is ignored, such as lying down within 4 hours after treatment or engaging in intense activities within 48 hours. These unwanted effects may appear hours, days, or weeks later as the Botox begins to take effect. If they occur, avoid driving or tasks requiring focus and contact your injector immediately for evaluation, solutions and guidance.
4. POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
4.1 Swelling and light bruising. Mild swelling and bruising are common and resolve in a few days.
4.2 Redness. The treated area may feel sore and appear red for up to 48h.
4.3 Numbness or tingling in the treated area.
4.4 Botox® Cosmetic is known to cause light headaches within first 24h after treatment.
4.5 Lumps or Irregularities: Although the procedure may be perfectly successful immediately after the treatment, the soft and malleable nature of hyaluronic gel can lead to irregularities in time, especially if aftercare instructions are not followed. Some people may experience lumps or unevenness in the lips after the healing process is complete (typically around 30 days after the procedure). These issues can often be massaged out but may sometimes require further adjustment.
5. EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN
5.1 In the case of anaphylaxis while still on the premises, epinephrine (EpiPen) will be administered immediately and an ambulance will be called immediately. Epinephrine buys time, but it's not a cure, medical attention is still required.
5.2 If you anaphylaxis starts happening after leaving the treatment premises, call 999 right away or ask someone to call for you, as you may not be able to speak. Signs include sudden swelling of your tongue or throat, trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking. Every minute is important, do not waste time! Don’t wait or hope it will get better by itself, anaphylaxis is serious and needs rapid help as it can escalate rapidly.
5.3 In the event of non-life threatening symptoms like aesthetic dissatisfaction, rashes, bruises, local infection, intense pain, changes in skin colour around the puncture or any unmentioned side-effect that might worry you, please contact Honey Lips® - 0784177760
6. EXPECTED BENEFITS AND OUTCOMES
6.1 Dermal fillers
• Depending on the area injected, dermal fillers can add volume and definition.
• Results appear immediately, and the duration of effects may vary based on the product used as well as individual anatomy, metabolism, and lifestyle factors.
• Effects typically last between 6 to 18 months.
• While results are generally very effective, exact outcomes cannot be fully predicted.
6.2 Anti-Wrinkle Botox
• Anti-wrinkle Botox softens fine lines and wrinkles in the areas where it is injected, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and corners of the eyes.
• Results typically begin to appear within 3-5 days, with maximum effect after 10-14 days. Effects usually last around 3-4 months, varying between individuals.
• Follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain consistent results. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising may occur but usually settles quickly.
• Although the procedure may be technically successful, treatment results cannot always be guaranteed due to factors like Botox resistance, the presence of antibodies or individual metabolism.
• Muscle movement will gradually return and wrinkles reappear as the product wears off.
6.3 Skin boosters: Polynucleotides
• Improved skin texture by stimulating collagen and elastin production. This helps restore skin firmness and elasticity, reducing signs of ageing.
• Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles: by improving skin texture and thickness, fine lines become less visible.
• Skin regeneration: polynucleotides can stimulate cellular repair and regeneration, promoting healthier, more resilient skin.
• Improvements begin to appear within weeks after the first polynucleotide treatment, with optimal results typically visible after the second session.
• Results are expected to last around 6 months.
• While results are generally very effective, exact outcomes cannot be fully predicted or guaranteed.
6.4 Skin boosters: Profhilo
• Deep skin hydration and improved skin quality through stimulation of collagen and elastin production.
• Smoother skin texture: fine lines and crepey skin are softened, giving a more youthful appearance.
• Natural glow and radiance: skin looks healthier and more refreshed without added volume or unnatural changes.
• Improvements begin to appear within weeks after the first Profhilo treatment, with optimal results typically visible after the second session.
• Results are expected to last around 6 months.
• While results are generally very effective, exact outcomes cannot be fully predicted or guaranteed.
7. ALTERNATIVES
You are encouraged to ask any questions and seek a second opinion if you wish, to ensure you are fully informed before proceeding.
8. RIGHT TO REFUSE OR WITHDRAW
You have the right to decline or stop treatment at any time, including during the procedure, if you change your mind. Your decision will be respected without pressure or judgment.
9. DISSATISFACTION
