Before / After
I recently corrected asymmetric lips caused by a previous filler injection performed elsewhere. This correction was achieved without dissolving the existing filler, simply by adding volume where needed and rebalancing the proportions with precision. The “before” image clearly shows the asymmetry, while the “after” picture reveals a more harmonious and balanced lip shape.
Asymmetries following lip filler injections can occasionally occur, even when the procedure is done correctly.
That’s the main reason a follow-up is so important, and that's why I recommend a second lip filler treatment to smooth out any inconsistencies that appeared during the healing period (two weeks after injection). Common factors that can alter a procedure done correctly include:
• Improper aftercare during the healing period (first 2 weeks)
• Sleeping consistently on one side • Smoking predominantly on one side • A naturally strong pre-existing asymmetry
However, in the majority of cases, these asymmetries appear following poor injection technique + improper filler products. This is particularly common among less experienced practitioners, especially those coming from unrelated medical backgrounds and beauticians with minimal or no filler training and little experience.
Contrary to popular belief, cosmetic injectables are not taught in medical school
This is an extracurricular field that requires additional, highly specialised training and extensive hands-on experience.
